Yep. We’re definitely going to the dogs around here. And that’s a good thing! We’re partnering with our furry friends at Woods Humane Society for our first mainstage show of the 2015-2016 Season. Sylvia by A.R.Gurney is a romantic comedy about a dog and the couple who adopt her. What better partners could we have for such a charming romantic comedy?!
Three cast members from our production of Sylvia paid a visit to Woods last week and got to know some of the wonderful pets that are currently waiting to be adopted. The big black dog is Lady, a beautiful Great Dane who had a load of fun playing with cast members Kristen Saunders, Earnest Roberts and Madeline Moeller.
Turns out the entire cast of Sylvia are animal lovers and we had a wonderful time hanging out at Woods, playing with Lady and a little white poodle mix named Hugo. Thanks to Danielle Dutro McNamara Photography for joining us and for taking such wonderful photos. I think Danielle and I were sorely tempted to run away with Hugo. If you stop by Woods and he’s gone, you’ll know one of us succumbed to his charms and took him home to join our family.
Sylvia is in the final two weeks of rehearsal getting ready for a Friday, August 21st opening night. Opening Weekend is selling fast, but there are still great seats for Saturday, August 29th at 2 pm. Get your tickets now and you can enjoy a matinee performance of Sylvia, then stick around to mingle with the cast and crew and some cute canines from Woods immediately following the show. Since Sylvia is a show about adopting a dog that needs a home, what better post-show entertainment than meeting and greeting some new friends. And what better non-profit partner could we have as we launch our season, and this wonderful show, than Woods Humane Society.
Watch for more Woods/Little Theatre postings over the next few weeks. And don’t forget to make your reservations for Sylvia soon! Or better yet, you can still buy all six season shows for as little as $129! Season Subscribers get the best seats, at the best price, guaranteed.
And if you’re looking to expand your family circle to include a dog or a cat, check out Woods Humane Society. Don’t leave Hugo, or Sylvia, sitting in that kennel all alone. Your new pet is waiting for you to come and get them! 🙂
P.S. Check out more photos of our trip to Woods Humane Society on the Sylvia show page.
